Recertification News - Spring 2025

Melissa Lassen BSN, RN, NCSN

Documentation for your current RN license, work history, and all continuing education hours will be required before you can submit your application for recertification.

Please make sure you are uploading your most current RN licensure.

NCPD/CE courses must be at least 0.50 CEUs/NCPD in length.

To count towards recertification renewal, NCPD/CE must have been approved by one of the credentialing agencies (accredited providers) approved by NBCSN.

If NCPD/CE is 6 hours or greater, you must provide evidence of the courses attended by supplying a course syllabus, program, course agenda, or transcript of the course.

If you are claiming academic credit, a transcript is required as proof of successful completion. Academic courses must lead to an academic degree in nursing or an academic course relevant to nursing practice.

Please make sure that you are claiming credit for a course that is accepted.  Examples of courses that are not accepted are CPR, First Aid, and Blood-Borne Pathogen training.

NBCSN strongly recommends you include MORE than the 75 credits required; should one or more of your courses/activities not meet the requirements, you will not need to submit more documentation.
