GOAL: The NCSN credential is recognized nationally as the trusted benchmark for excellence in school nursing and continues to evolve to meet the diverse and changing needs of the profession.
Objectives:
- Strengthen the value of earning and maintaining the NCSN credential.
- Increase national awareness and recognition of the NCSN credential as the trusted benchmark of excellence in school nursing.
- Expand data collection and reporting that demonstrate the impact of NCSN certification.
GOAL: NCSN credentialed school nurses are empowered to lead, influence, and improve health outcomes in their schools and communities.
Objectives:
- Increase the visibility, leadership, and influence of NCSN credentialed school nurses.
- Increase the number and diversity of NCSN applicants and certificants to reflect the communities they serve.
- Expand access and support to help nurses pursue and maintain the NCSN credential while upholding current education and experience standards.
GOAL: NBCSN builds alliances that extend its influence, strengthen the specialty of school nursing, and support the value and visibility of the NCSN credential.
Objectives:
- Increase collaboration with core partners (e.g., NASN, state affiliates, and other credentialing bodies) to support alignment in practice, policy, and professional standards.
- Grow NBCSN’s reputation as a valued partner across the education and school health ecosystem.
- Increase partnerships that support certification, access, and incentives.
