President's update - Fall 2025
By Keisha Major, RN, MSN-Ed, NCSN
As we enter this season of gratitude, NBCSN is especially thankful for the incredible work of school nurses across the nation and for 40 amazing years of advancing excellence through national certification! We kicked off our 40th Anniversary celebration at the NASN Conference in Austin this past June with a special reception honoring our 6,000+ (and growing!) NCSNs. Be sure to visit our NBCSN 40th Anniversary page (link) to join in the celebration.
This year has been a refreshing year for NBCSN filled with new beginnings and continued commitment to supporting our certificants. We launched a new exam in June, built from insights gathered from school nurses nationwide during our latest Job Task Analysis, and released the new NCSN Study Guide, authored by Dr. Janice Selekman and Elizabeth Knox. Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce that additional JEBDI scholarships will be available for 2026 testing and moving forward, scholarships will be awarded annually. We’re also celebrating the many NCSNs who presented at NASN2025 your expertise, leadership, and advocacy continue to elevate our profession.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all our dedicated NBCSN volunteers. You are truly the reason for our success! If you’re inspired to get involved, we’d love to have you join any of our committees as volunteers (link). This November, we celebrate YOU, the heart of school nursing and the foundation of NBCSN’s mission.
