  • The Certification Examination for School Nurses was administered three times in 2021 – in March, July, and November.
  • Of the 719 examinations administered in 2021, 511 (71.1%) candidates passed.
  • 477 NCSNs with expiration dates in 2021 successfully recertified.
  • At the end of 2021, there were 4,732 NCSNs and 405 NCSN-Es.

2020 Certification Update

  • The Certification Examination for School Nurses was administered three times in 2020 – in March, July, and November.
  • Of the 699 examinations administered in 2020, 560 (80.1%) candidates passed.
  • 471 NCSNs with expiration dates in 2020 successfully recertified.
  • At the end of 2020, there were 4,202 NCSNs and 343 NCSN-Es.

2019 Certification Update

  • The Certification Examination for School Nurses was administered three times in 2019 – in March, July, and November.
  • Of the 736 examinations administered in 2019, 608 (82.6%) candidates passed.
  • 567 NCSNs with expiration dates in 2019 successfully recertified.
  • At the end of 2019, there were 4,207 NCSNs and 278 NCSN-Es.

2018 Certification Update

  • The Certification Examination for School Nurses was administered three times in 2018 – in March, July, and November.
  • Of the 598 examinations administered in 2018, 500 (83.6%) candidates passed.
  • 379 NCSNs with expiration dates in 2017 successfully recertified.
  • At the end of 2018, there were 4,086 NCSNs and 219 NCSN-Es.

  • The Certification Examination for School Nurses was administered three times in 2017 – in March, July, and November.
  • Of the 475 examinations administered in 2017, 411 (79%) candidates passed.
  • 415 NCSNs with expiration dates in 2016 successfully recertified.
  • At the end of 2017, there were 3,886 NCSNs and 249 NCSN-Es.

  • The Certification Examination for School Nurses was administered three times in 2016 – in March, July, and November.
  • Of the 430 examinations administered in 2016, 373 (73.7%) candidates passed.

  • The Certification Examination for School Nurses was administered twice in 2010 – in March and July.
  • Of the 406 examinations administered in 2010, 269 (66%) candidates passed.

  • As of December 22, 2010, there were 3,318 NCSNs.

  • The Certification Examination for School Nurses was administered twice in 2009 – in March and July.
  • Of the 576 examinations administered, 429 (74%) candidates passed.

2008 Certification Update

  • The Certification Examination for School Nurses was administered twice in 2008 – in February and July.
  • Of the 566 examinations administered, 403 (71.2%) of the candidates passed the examination.
  • In 2008, 216 NCSNs successfully recertified.
  • 254 NCSNs with expiration dates in 2008 successfully recertified.
  • As of September 9, 2008, there were 2,961 NCSNs.

2007 Certification Update

  • The Certification Examination for School Nurses was administered three times in 2007 – in January, June, and July.
  • Of the 476 examinations administered, 265 (55.7%) candidates passed.
  • 261 NCSNs with expiration dates in 2007 successfully recertified.
  • As of August 1, 2007, there were 2,631 NCSNs.

2006 Certification Update

  • The Certification Examination for School Nurses was administered six times in 2006 – in February, April, June, July, August, and November.
  • Of the 539 examinations administered, 314 (58.3%) candidates passed.
